    sounds like it might be in the trans/torque converter depending on whether it is an auto or a 5 speed. could have a locked up flywheel/torque converter... like i said depends on which trans it has. just take a flathead screwdriver to the teeth of where the starter connects and see if u can spin...

    My Stepson's 1988 Corolla - Clutch Related?

    does it grind when he tries to put it into gear? or just will not go period? thats kind of a big question... if it grinds going in then u have a clutch/pressure plate/throwout bearing issue. if it does not grind then i would say shift linkage synchros etc... it could be a lot more things tho...

    Help - Odd Rattling Noise

    k so i just bought a 5 speed 91 corolla. its one of the best driving cars ive had as goofy as it looks being a 91 station wagon and all... so before i say the problem i will say they removed the cats from the car and replaced them with thrush 40 whatever theyre called... the autozone muffler...
