it starts right up. like I said, I put in a new battery

it needed a new alternator in the first place because it wasn't putting out. and it drained the battery dry. so I replaced both. I am mechanically inclined, and im no parts changer

My battery light is on in my 2005 corolla s. And I have replaced the alternator and the belt and battery, what else could be the problem? The tensioner is good also. Could it be a faulty altenator from Napa? It checks out that it is the same, but is it different internally?
