2002 Corolla - Burning Too Much Oil?

The manufacturer does recommend 5w-30 but remember that it was the car is new which means the engine is not consuming oil. When the engine starts consuming oil the use of 5w-30 goes out the window. At operating temperature 10w-30 and 5w-30 are the same thing so id stay away from both of those...

2002 Corolla - Burning Too Much Oil?

Finding the cause of oil consumption isnt going to help the OP because it is irreversible, the only solution is to rebuild the whole engine. He is asking for a way to help it consume less. I correct myself i actually meant use 10w-40 which is thicker and therefore harder to burn through, just as...

2002 Corolla - Burning Too Much Oil?

Use 10w-30 oil, its not normal for it to burn that much oil but then again if you arent the original owner you cant blame yourself you can only deal with it. With the thicker oil it will still burn but at a slower rate.

    1998 Corolla - Drivers Door Won't Lock/Unlock With Button

Idk exactly what it could be but you can try what i tried it wont cost you much. I soaked the driver door lock (where you put the key in) with WD-40 i sprayed it completely inside and put the key in and turned it back and forth till the lock loosened and it worked. Now the door opens smoothly...

    Valve Tap

So i took the car to my mechanic today and he told me the timing chain has play in it and needs to be replaced so thats whats making the noise. So i bought the chain & tensioner and he's going to replace it for me. Im kind of pissed that the problem was much bigger than i thought it was but also...

    Valve Tap

Its the stock engine on a 98 corolla and i bought the car already had the noise when i bought it so i dont know where it came from just know its there. Since if owned the car i use 10w-30 castrol gtx with a generic filter (dont know the brand).

    Valve Tap

Have this valve tap that just wont go away ive tried thicker oil, lucas, and other additives and the valves still tap. The noise is less noticeable when the car warms up but it never goes away, my next move will be to do a valve adjustment. Does you think a valve adjustment will fix my issue? My...

2002 - Need to Replace All Four Struts - Which Brand?

Id go for Tokiko HP "Blues" they are reliable and not expensive at all you can get em for around $400 for the set of 4. They're actually also a little stiffer than OEM shocks and work well with lowering springs just incase you were thinking of lowering your car down the road.

    2003 Corolla Blower Problems

I'll pass on that and just replace it considering its only about $60 at the dealer, i like to have the peace of mind that since its brand new i wont have any problems with it in the long run and i'll only be doing the job once.
