Give it time. I've had tint on all my cars (it gets hot in Georgia summers) and when I drive a rental or someone else's car without tint it feels weird to me. You'll eventually get used to it!

I'm having issues when the car is running. Not trying to open/close the sunroof on battery power alone (which I would agree would be a problem if the batt was bad).

Warranty: Nope, no effect. Lots of posts and discussions around here about that one (short version: it's a myth that modifications to your car will void the warranty). Hooking up an external power wire, properly fused, is not going to affect anything.

As soon as I get power run off the battery, I'll do that. I had it set up in my old Corolla that, sadly, it died last year in a crash :( Right now I'm running off a power adapter (aka: cigarette lighter)....yeah, I know, not good for ham radios.
I was actually considering some of the static-cling, easy to peel off darker tint that I could leave on in the summer, and take off in the winter. Pros: easy, cheap, quick to remove if I have to. Cons: may look like crap.
