'97 1.8, post timing belt change--no start

#1
Title says it all. Here the details.
I just changed the timing belt. All the timing marks are correct, so theoretically it should start.

Had my teenage son helping. When he removed the alternator he accidentally pulled the yellow wire out of the sensor in the block just behind the alt. Looks like it is an oil pressure sender. Will no signal from this prevent it from starting?
Any other ideas? It ran just fine before I dug into it.

Thanks!

If you're still around and want to know what happened with your vehicle:

Yes, That can and will prevent some vehicles from starting. Many vehicles will NOT supply fuel to the engine until it sees an oil pressure reading above a certain value for obvious reasons. Glad you got it fixed!

Yes, I was thinking as much. I just had time in between being able to work on it and was hoping for a confirmation before I worked on it again.
Thanks for the answer. :)

I think i'm having a timing belt issue as well.
How do I ensure the cam and crank are aligned properly?
Assuming the engine jumped time and I need to time it from scratch, does anyone have a simple procedure??

Thanks a lot!
