Stance

Does the OEM rim have those little slots behind the wheel to clear the studs? I tried 20mm spacers with my aftermarket wheels but since the OEM studs protruded past the spacer, my wheel wouldn't mount at all since my wheel doesn't have those slots to clear the protruding studs. I was thinking to buy extended studs and spacers rather than spacers that mount to OEM studs with new studs to mount the wheel.

Since I'm not quite clear what you're speaking of I will take a picture when I get home and post it

The slots I'm referring to are these (specifically top/bottom left): http://www.subispeed.com/images/ichiba-v2-wheel.jpg

Sorry if that's not the term for them. But yeah, I was just wondering if the OEM wheel had these to compensate for spacers or if your wheel studs protruded out farther than the spacers thickness.

Ok, that's what I was thinking too.
Maybe like the bottom left photo?
I'll have to look cause I don't remember.

Wow! I wonder why my XXRs didn't include these :( Even my buddies Varrstoen wheels didn't have them either so he couldn't even use the spacers either! Thanks for the help!

I didn't have a problem with my studs interfering with my spacers and wheel. I have the 17" stock rims from Toyota on a 14

No spacers. Rims are 18x8 w/35mm offset.
To achieve the same stance, with stock rims, you would need like 16mm spacers. Lol
Our stock offset is 39 across the board.
I have stock rims, I run 15mm fronts and 20mm rear and I'm on tein lowering springs. No rubbing whatsoever
Thanks for the reply. Believe it or not I really like the OEM S+ rims. Any chance you could post some pictures of your fenders @Ironfly11234 . I want to see how it looks with those size spacers. Thanks!

Do you feel any difference adding on that UR bar beneath the TRD rear sway bar?
I purchased each one separately and I noticed the car get stiffer with each install. Hope that makes sense.
I also have a rear strut bar from UR and everyone has the TRD front strut bar, lol.
I really noticed the Megan bar up front when I installed it.
Yeah, they all help with overall handling.
The rear UR bar, is solid metal. Unlike everything else UR makes. It gives an extra mounting point for the shocks and ties to the rear axle assembly.

Wow sounds good! Now where did you buy the TRD front strut bar? The Amazon one is "currently unavailable" and from what Ive seen the ebay posts for the item are a little sketchy looking

When I bought it, it was available almost everywhere. But I think mine came from Daytona Toyota.
Corolla's are hot right now! Seems like everything is out of stock.

Chris, question. I'm thinking on putting spacers on my stock rims to make the stance little wider and possibly improve handling a bit. I think my stock aluminum rims that came on the premium are exactly what you had on your car before you swapped.

Do you know of any good spacer brands, best you can get and none from ebay or amazon? Also, do I go same width front and rear, if so 20mm or 25? I heard hubcentric bolt on is the way to go. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Because I replaced the rims, I never researched spacers. So I have no knowledge on them.
I'm sure someone in this forum is using them though.
As for hub centric, I'm thinking that applies to the center hub mounting point. I know I had to buy hub centric rings for my rims. I don't know if it's a brand name or not. Mine came from eBay, lol.
The inside of your rim should look like this IMG_1586.JPG
I believe those empty sections between the bolt holes are useful when using spacers.
Ask brothabear, I think he might be using spacers.
Sorry but that's all I got.

I have 15 mm front and 20mm rear which are both hubcentric. I got them from eBay which I mean they haven't riden badly for being eBay spacers. The only thing I had that was a problem with them were just not tightening down the bolts on the spacers itself.
