(Corolla 2011) - Map lights stuck inside.

#1
Hello everyone.
Sorry about my English, it's not my primary language.

I have Corolla 2011 sun,
Tried to replace map light (those light in front of car's salon, besides the sunglasses holder) and accidentally pull the bulb inside the whole plastic. Is there any way to remove that plastic to save the bulb? Cannot find any tutorial to do that in my car..

Please help
Thanks.

Not exactly sure what you are saying but I may have an idea. Did you take out the assembly from the roof? Or just took the bulb covers off and replaced bulb? If you did not take the assembly out then I would suggest doing so. The sockets twist in from the top of the assembly, in a similar fashion of how the front/rear lights bulbs are replaced. What may have happened is the socket may have turned out of place and when you pushed the bulb in it popped out. It is not hard to remove the assembly, there is a pin in each corner but only one (If I remember correct, when you are sitting in the seat facing the front, it is the front right corner) is secured in place, the others are just a guide pin. Be careful because when you try to pry it out of the roof liner it is quite easy to crack and weaken the liner. Then you pull down and unplug the electrical connections. At that point you have full access and can be sure the sockets are properly in place. On mine I found there is not much friction to keep them in place at all, very easy to twist out. Hope this helps
