rollie - I have been in the synthetic oil industry for close to 30 years. The advice you were given by that dealership was not to your benefit and was so incredibly lacking, I was absolutely appalled. I didn't call your dealership a, "stealer". It does not matter if a vehicle originally came equipped with synthetic oils or not, as any vehicle can benefit from the use of synthetic oils and move up to improved fuel economy, reduced engine wear, lower emissions, easier cold winter engine starts, an internally cleaner engine, reduced engine temperatures, reduced maintenance costs, etc. Synthetic oils are not anything magical or mysterious, they are simply a vastly superior lubricant to dead dinosaur squeezings. Here is an article that will provide you more information on synthetic oils and states exactly what I recommended to you - Synthetic Oils: Rx for Long Engine Life - http://getahelmet.com/jeeps/tech/syntheticoil/ Enjoy.
Again , not for a '09 . 2010 and up came with synthetic from the factory. Your bold statements about the dealer ( and I don't like them either ) , were incorrect .
