Power wire off the battery thru the firewall

Post some photos of the install. I've got a Kenwood rig I had in my truck and am interested to see how you set up your Corolla.

    New update firmware is out!

XEON, thanks for posting the links! My car has never been to the dealer since I bought it 13 months ago, so the version I was running was 30.xx. Now I'm updated and traffic data actually is displayed. Probably other differences I haven't learned about yet. Appreciate it!

    S Plus Uncomfortable Seat

Try adjusting. I'm 6'1, 165 lbs and am very comfortable in the car. In fact, both my wife and I were very comfortable during our 2,100 mile road trip a few months ago.

2015 Corolla -Winter Tires & All Seasonn Tires & Wheels Set Plus TMP sensor

I just put on winter wheel and tire package I got from TR. No TPMS was installed on the winter wheels. I was fully expecting to see the TPMS system light, but I haven't seen it in the 4 days since I put on the wheels.

    2014 Corolla - Fumoto Valve

When I was a teenager, we never wore gloves when changing oil. And we threw the old oil into the bushes! Times have changed! Always wear the gloves, and always recycle the used oil!

    2014 Corolla - Fumoto Valve

Fumoto valves are very convenient, but given the easy access to the drain on these cars, they don't offer a lot of value to me, either.

    Fuel Cleaner

@ScottO'Kashan is right about the premium fuel. Our engine's don't need it. As far as fuel system cleaner, I use it every 5K. Specifically, Redline SI-1.

    Who the hell...

No mention of "PCV" in the manual. Let us know how you do the change and the time it takes to do it.

    First Oil Change

The clip just rides over the filter canister but does not prevent it from unscrewing. I believe the torque spec on the canister is 18 lb-ft. That's not much. So if you don't have a torque wrench, snug it up, fill with oil (I use 5W-30 M1) and check for leaks.

    First Oil Change

Regarding the "safety clip", I've seen videos where people try to move it, or bend it out of the way. In my experience doing oil changes on my car, the clip doesn't interfere with anything and does not need to be be bent, etc.

    Smelly A/C

I've had a similar issue in the past with a different car. With it, and with my Corolla, I now replace my cabin filter every six months. In addition, I typically drive with recirculation off so as to get fresh air into the system. Never get the moldy / stale smells anymore.
