It's the CVT transmission, my 2015 does the same thing, the sound that you hear has been described as a flying saucer like sound.

Most certainly more than $307.00 dollars! It's probably worth it if you don't do your own oil changes and tire rotations, just the parts alone for 4 years would probably exceed that amount!
