Worse MOG with K&N drop in filter

is this the oiled type? Less air flow, oil from the filter on the MAF causing the readings to vary, seated properly and no chance of air leaks? For the majority of the vehicles they are put in, the K&Ns will actually function more poorly than the factory pleated filters.

Air vent mount cell phone holder - is there one out there?

I have a 2015 L, no issues with the player operating, it just clamps into the open with foam"teeth" that gently spread apart with a wing nut. I have had the same cd in there for the last 10K miles, so changing it hasn't really been an issue:D

Air vent mount cell phone holder - is there one out there?

I had looked at the vent style, but was leery of the quality(I have an LGv10 which is a heavy phone) I went with this instead, I like it much better as there is far less wobble, and gets the phone up higher as well...

What did you do to your Corolla today?

Added keyless entry(2015 L) didn't need anything fancy, $15 Omega system from Amazon, have installed several in the past with zero issues, 4 wires to hook up, and the plus that the dome light circuit comes on with the unlock. Happy wife, happy life

    Fuel System Cleaner

I add some seafoam every 10 tanks or so, as long as you know what you're dumping in there, you'll be fine, granted, you should not need it, but it won't hurt

    Tires for LIFE

My father in law got suckered into an "add-on" with his new car that promised free tires for life as well. First set lasted 60K. They were replaced by the cheapest off brand tires that rode like bricks and had no traction unless you were driving on 90* sunny days on blacktop. It was written in...

What did you do to your Corolla today?

The seatcovers came in today, I should have laid them out in the house and let the flatten out, but was in a hurry, 25* out didn't help much either, they'll smooth out nicely. I'm pretty impressed so far, I didn't need the rear seat back as much as the bottom, so I'm ok with it not working. A...

    Aftermarket Horns Thoughts and Opinions

check out the audio clips on youtube. Personal preference I suppose, but I think they sound horrible. I have this horn on my bike, and will be adding it to the Corolla. http://www.amazon.com/Stebel-Nautilus-Universal-Motorcycles-Scooters/dp/B00CMX20H4

    Hitting 5000 miles

Make sure you document well the time, keep the receipts and use OEM quality or better, and you'll be fine. Doing it yourself will not void the warrantly outright, but they will use everything they can to fight a claim however. Just keep that in mind.

    Tail light tinting

Not going to touch on the safety issue, but as Josh said, the spray is a pain. Rarely lays down even/flat, and is a headache. Find a local tint shop would be your best bet and have them do it, the majority of the vinyls will distort the light as they're not designed for the application.

    MODS

take it out of the car, sell it. The weight savings will net you .03hp, and last a lot longer than spraying this tiny motor.

    Nokya Hyperlime Fog Lights

Do any of you guys have it wired so you can show the fogs/pattern without the headlights? or the ability just cover the headlights, and show the fogs? I'm usually the first to add aux lighting, and I have contemplated this on my L, but that beam pattern I think I'm looking at is driving me nuts.

    Installed air suspension

Just the system alone fails during safety inspections in this neck of the woods. Too many hack jobs have put an end to that.

    Installed air suspension

West coasters can get away with that look, illegal here, and having seen the aftermath of some failed systems, I can see why. Nice show car look, but def not for me for a driver.

    Intake Install

the engine is going to try to pull what it needs for the proper air/fuel mixture. 2 ways this can happen, a filter housing/design that is open and doesn't try to shield the noise from the cabin, or B a filter that just designed to be noisy. Pay attention the specs from the manufacturer as to how...

Am I being stupid buying a 1997 Corolla?

If you're planning on spending several thousand on a 97 Corolla, you're looking in the wrong places. I have a 97 and a '15. The 97 cost me 1K, it has 103K and just had the clutch replaced before I purchased. It's a base model, no frills...A/C, 5spd, and manual everything. Seats are a little...

    Intake Install

Upgraded intakes 90% of the time are for looks. The theory is they increase airflow. The fact is they can A-increase airflow due to a reduction in filtering, potentially damaging the engine.B-the wet/oiled filters can create issues with sensors and other components downstream. You have a vehicle...

I wonder if it's possible to add Sport Mode and Paddle Shifters to LE model

My understanding is that the majority of the body control harnesses are in place regardless of the trim model. There may be SOME exceptions(additional pigtails and such), but the main harnesses should have the provisions. It would have cost to much to make the things for each trim model/packages.
