steering wheel lock

Has anyone had their steering wheel lock be extremely hard to release? I have a 2014 with 100,000 miles and sometimes it won't start due to the steering wheel being locked. I know it's that when I hit the button to start it and that usual mechanic whirring sound doesn't happen...
