I'm a proud owner of a 2002 Toyota Corolla E12 1.6 vvti. The car has done about 214.000 km and drives really well. Oil usage is about 1l on 8000 km, so that's really okay for a early vvti engine.
Only weird thing that I have is that the engine sometimes and mostly on a warm engine makes a short rattling sound for about 5 seconds or so. It does happen about approximately 2 out of 10 warm starts, maybe even less and almost never with a cold start.
Can this be the chain tensioner that's almost on it's end?
Or any other ideas?
