A friend of mine bought a 1985 Toyota Corolla sedan, 1.5litre engine... It's a carb'd engine. It's running pretty rough, When t hey bought it... The owner said that the engine had a stuck valve, Which is why it runs rough. But that cylinder still had compression.(If the valve is stuck, wouldn't it not test with compression?) But I'm suspecting it's a vacuum leak or a dirty carb. It idles like crap at first, Once it warms up it'll idle a little better. And it smells of gas out of the exhaust.
Can anyone tell me what common problems are with these older Corollas?
