1994 gas tank swap

#1
My daughter has a 1994 Corolla that has a bad gas tank. We purchased a new one, pulled the old one out yesterday and it has an "L" shaped metal line that attaches to the 2 smaller openings on top of the tank and connects to what i think is a return line or evap line. That L shaped line is trashed and I can not figure out what it actually is to even try to buy one. None of our local parts stores have a clue. Any help is much appreciated.

I had a similar problem when I had to replace the fuel pump in my 92 Corolla. I had to remove the tank to fish the pump out and noticed the steel gas line had a nut that would not budge. Pblaster and an extended flare nut wrench only wanted to bend the tube, not remove the nut, so I got a little pipe cutter and snipped it off. I went to NAPA and got about a foot of Goodyear rubber gas hose and 4 little hose clamps. I really clamped it tight- twice on both ends and have no leaks or vapors from under the tank.
