1996 corolla front passenger ball joint repair

#1
I tried like crazy to get it off, and didn't succeed. I used the ball joint puller with no luck, and so I grinded it off. Now the fun part is drilling up through that bolt thats left, and popping the new ball joint back in.

Would have been easy drilling from the top of the bolt, but the dang axle is in the way, and can't get that bolt to loosen.

I have been drilling for hours trying to get through the steering knuckle. What is the best way to do it?

I had to get the axle bolt out, and grinded the bolt off the top. Then I saw my hole from the drill, and hammered for a while till the dang thing fell out the bottom. Took way too long to do this dang job.

Doug- get a torch and heat the seized bolt. Then extend a combination wrench with a pipe for leverage, lay the colosed side of your wrench on the nut and push the pipe slow and steady. If it won't budge, grab a 5 pound hand hammer and whack the devil out of it. Heat it again. Grab your extended wrench...wash, rinse, repeat. :)
