2008 Corolla: Changing Rear Brake Shoes

Hi...
My name is Jose and I own a corolla 2008 CE with auto transmission. My VIN starts with 1.

I need to change my rear break shoes and I found that autozone sells them for Japaneese corolla 08 or for american one 08.

1. How can I tell my corolla is american or japaneese? I suspect it is american but... how can I confirm?
2. Do I need the rear brake hardware kit?
3. Does anyone has pictures or good explanations about how to do this job?
