Hi. I have a 2009 Toyota Corolla LE. Recently, one of my remote key's casing broke and the chip, buttons and metal key all came loose. I purchased a blank key online with the casing, then took the old chip and placed it in the new casing. I then got the new metal key component cut based on the original master key. But, the new key does not work. The ignition seems to get going, but the car won't start.
I'm wondering if I need to reprogram this new key even though the chip is the same and only the metal key component is a duplicate of the master. If I do need to program its signature, what is the procedure? I have seen differing instructions online and none of them have worked. Any suggestions/advice will be much appreciated. Thank you in advance.
