Hi all! Car wouldnt start. Would crank and sputter a bit, but never start. Checked fuses and the basic stuff and worked my way back to the fuel pump. There are two lines going to this pump. A bigger 5/8"ish line and a smaller 1/4" line. I pulled the big one and nothing there...just air. Pulled the small one and got sprayed in the face with gas. 
Left the lines off and cranked it over to see if the pump was pumping gas. Yes...had a mess to clean up. But with the lines off it started and continued to run. I shut the engine off, plugged the fuel lines back in and it is running seemingly fine. Why? Any ideas?
Is the smaller line the supply or return?
