Hello all, my first post.
I'm on here because we got a 2014 corolla LE w/ 41K miles. The different zones on the A/C are not working when changing. It only blows air in front. The Recirculation works and so does the temprature changes.
I looked behind the glove box to change the filter and found a good bit of trash (paper/a heavy earring) that I took out. I found the problem. There is a white cog wheel that has come out from its socket slightly to where its not catching on the controls being moved by the blend door actuator. I cannot for the life of me find the name of this wheel. It's white / about 4-5 inches large, and is directly to the left of the cabin air filter housing.
I think the earring got jammed between the wheel when it was moving and caused it to partially unmount.
Two questions:
Whats this part called?
How can I get this wheel to 'sit' back on the tabs that move when its suppose to spin?
Your help is appreciated before I need to fork over big bucks to my local mechanic..
