2014 S plus water pump

#1
hey folks. My car had a bad water pump at 38.000 miles. I went to local toyota dealer and they said it's factory deffect and they replaced immediately. How that is possible? Did this happen to anyone?

Factory defect could have been something to do with a weep hole, machining of the pump itself, etc. No telling.

Really good they fixed it for you hassle-free though. Especially with it being outside of the 36k basic warranty.

In today's world I wouldn't be surprised if a car manufacturer deemed the water pump to be a maintenance item that is not covered under the powertrain warranty. LOL
