2016 toyota corolla S canister or spin filter

We own again a new corolla Feb 2016 build I hear people have mixed filters out there?

What does this mean. nothing. but when you are ready to do an oil change, best be knowing what you got under your hood. I thought I have the paper filter, and I now got the older metal one again Lol. all good for me. and how bout you?

I haven't replaced mine myself yet, I've been having it done for free by Toyota but for my next change that I do myself I'm looking at the K&N filter. It seems to get good ratings.
