No, we almost bought the first Yaris back in 06. It was a sedan. The price was right but we couldn’t stand the center instrument cluster. So we ended up with an 06 Corolla, which is when my love affair with these cars began.
May she rust in piece.
I kinda totaled it at 6 months. Lol

Laffin' at May She Rust In Peace. Drove a rental Yaris sedan for 2 weeks. Also hated that cluster. It was a nice car, though. I nicknamed the one i drove Yertle the Turtle from the Dr. Seuss book.

In Canada we have had the Yaris sedan several times. The current one is a Mazda. In the US it was the Scion IA but in Canada is was marketed as the Yaris from day one. I like the new one but somehow I feel most of the features will not be in the North American version. The more features it has the pricier it gets. However, on this side of the pond we are getting used to the idea of a small vehicle with all the bells and whistles, sorta what the Europeans have been embracing for many many years.
