Knocking/pinging is generally associated with low grade fuel, carbon build up in the combustion chamber, a defective knock sensor, and/or a vacuum leak. Try to run a tank of 93 octane with a bottle of Heet additive first, to see if anything changes. Heet removes any water from your fuel tank.
