This is my first post and please bear with me if it sounds dumb. I have had this '82 Corolla Liftback since 7/82.
I know I should know the answer to this but I am old and retired now and cannot drive at night - eye probs.
I haven't driven it at night in a looong time. I had to replace the front headlights (one out - replace both) and it had gotten dark when I finished. I turned on the lights to check and I noticed I have no lit gear shift console to show what gear it's in. I swear, I just cannot remember if it was ever lit but I also cannot believe Toyota would not provide a bulb behind the gear selection window in the small console.
And I am not too lazy to take the console out. It's just that I've had 6 leg ops in the last year and not over the last one yet (new vessel from groin to ankle from a blessed donor) and I've about outlived all friends to look at it for me at the moment.
I have the original owner's manual but it shows nothing about a light there.
