Here we go..! 93 Corolla fed emissions, originally had 1.8l now has 1.6l. 7afe ecm, harness, sensors, injectors, manifolds, etc. Car ran great for about a year (although fuel milage was not super at approx 25-28 mpg), now throwing a code 52 knock sensor code (still running smooth but with loss of power and worse fuel mileage ie. approx 18-20 mpg). Replaced sensor, and wire, pulled ecm in the process. Code cleared for several days of regular driving, and is now intermittent. I'm lost... Help? Can I possibly replace ecm with one from a 4afe and delete knock sensor? I also have to pass CA smog inspections. With 1.8 injectors, will I have issues running the 1.6 ecu? Is there any difference between 4afe ecm for a manual vs auto, or just the federal vs CA AND obd1 vs obd2? Thank you in advance for any help... I'm losing my mind here! Lol
