97 Toyota Corolla owner

#1
Hi,

I own a 97 Toyota Corolla and love my car. I have 196,000 miles on it. I have new tires, new radiator, all new hoses, belts, water pump, thermostat, and timing belt, all work I did myself, though I had help with the timing belt. Just last month my check engine light went on...it is code P0104, having to do with my Emission Re-circulation Flow being insufficient. I brought it to a garage and they said my ECM is not sending signal all, that all the other stuff is in working order. Can an ECM be replaced and is it worth it? That is why I joined this forum...I have no clue. I went on a website ECMtogo, with info about ECM's. Reading it, it looks as if ECM's are programmed with the VIN#, etc. so it complicates the replacement. Any advise or can anyone direct me to a thread...Thanks!
