A/C Not Working Properly

Hello all,

having a problem with my wife's 2004 Corolla S. The a/c will blow cold for a while then it will blow hot air..any suggestions on where to start?

Probably just low on freon. Over time it leaks out. My Rover did the exact same thing at the beginning of summer. Had the freon recharged for $20 and it's blowing ice cold. You can do it yourself by buying one of those kits but they're like $45. I found it cheaper just to have someone put more in. If you do do-it-yourself, you'll need to find out what psi the freon should be at in the corolla and then fill it until you get to the optimum psi in your system.

This typically indicates a low Freon condition, which is caused by a leak in the A.C. system. The leak should be diagnosed and repaired, or you'll be spending money over and over putting more Freon into the A.C. system and then up into our atmosphere.
