Buying Corolla 2003 - advice

Hello - im looking to bu a Toyota Corolla 2003 plate 1.6 VVT-i T3 later today and just wondering if this is a good engine choice or is there a particular engine choice that is best in terms of performance and economy? The car is about £1250 - is that a good price for these cars at about 83k?

i would suggest to go with it even i have same engine but check with the gaskets they may tend to leak so check the valve cover and the oil pan gaskets.

i've been getting great service from my 2002, which i bought in July of 2015. the only problem i had to have fixed was a timing cover oil leak. it's a fun car and i'm so glad i bought it.
