Corolla Alarm Question

Just purchased a 2013 Corolla and the dealer wanted $800 for the alarm system which we refused, after signing all the paper work. the sales person went into the car and "deactivated" the alarm which was already installed. Question is this normal??? I was wondering why would the dealer want to charge us $800 for something already installed on the vehicle. Just seems wrong to me.

All Corolla's have a built in anti theft the $800 probably was aftermarket making the anti theft better but $800 is way to much. You can have a top of the line one installed for $500
