Engine Dies

#1
I have a 1990 toyota Corolla LE. It has a 4A-FE, manual trans. Federal Emissions

History:

Ifew months ago I was warming the car up and it just died. I troubleshot it and found a bad coil pickup. replaced it. Ever since, sometimes when I push
the clutch in it dies, like getting ready to stop at a stop sign, but if I downshift, it has a tendency not to do it as much but not always. My wife's friend's son is a master tech and said it could be a clogged egr valve but I found out this model doesn't have one.

has any one else had this problem and/or know how to fix this.

thanks

We have a 2006 Corolla LE with a somewhat similar problem; while driving the engine stutters and sometimes it dies especially when slowing down for stops but restarts promptly and drives OK until it happens again, sometimes frequently. Has anyone else ever had this problem, I have taken it to the dealer many times but the problem persists. Please help me!!
