I got a 2008 Toyota Corolla S on Friday for my 17th birthday, not a present because I paid for it. I got it for $2,500 in pretty nice condition, perfect interior, meh exterior. Engine bay looks nice. I spent $2,000+ on my bmw for the last year of ownership and need to know what the reliability is like on these corollas. I bought the car with little research because I was just looking for a new car, the transmission in my bmw is starting to whine upon cold start so im kissing it goodnight, and handing the title and keys to someone soon, if I can even find anyone to buy it- that was quite the unique way to say I’m selling it but lmao there we go. I don’t know what kind of engine is in it, I’ve done a TON of researching but can’t figure it out, I believe it’s the 2ZR-FE. I know it’s a 1.8 inline 16 valve automatic. I’ll probably look through the book that came with the car. Long story... well long, what is the major issues and how bad of a decision did I make? What are common issues? What should I expect miles wise, it’s at 188,900. Hoping this car will pull me through high school because the bmw wouldn’t have done that.
