Hey everybody, I'm looking to build a track car out of an '83 TE72. Ideally, I'd like to swap the engine and transmission. The major problem with that, it seems, is where the new gear shift lever comes into the cabin. I don't want to stretch for it, and I don't want it to be practically behind me. Does anyone know the distance from the mounting point at the top of the bell housing to the source of the gear shift lever?
If anyone also happens to know this information for a Ford m5r1 transmission from a 2001-2009 Ranger, that'd be helpful as well. Thanks, everyone!
