Tinting the taillights must not block light shining thru. Some tints, although dark do not restrict light. Plus you can jump the bulb up to LED for more light. Some states will call them "not legal for road use". It must be done wisely to follow legality

that's what i thought too, but in regards to the led lights...i've found that halogen bulbs burn brighter than led's . atleast for the rear lights. i tested this out on a previous car and decided to switch back to halogen since i noticed that it was dimmer than the halogens at night. could just be me though.
