Manual to Automatic Transmission Swap

#1
I have a 2005 Corolla I bought new with 122,000 miles. I have a very lazy clutch leg do to MS and am pondering replacing the car. I really don't want to because the car is dead nuts reliable and I like it.
How feasible is it to replace the 5 speed manual transmission with an automatic transmission?
Thoughts:
Is the current auto tranny or 2000-2005 auto tranny computer controlled?
Are there previous auto trannys that were vacuum controlled and stand alone from the ECM that would fit the engine and the CV's?
Is the 2000-2005 auto tranny computer controlled?
Would a wiring harness from engine tranny ECM from a donor car be one piece and also the console brake pedal fit the my car?
I am thinking about purchasing a new mfg. tranny from toyota for this if it is doable.
I don't imagine they make the cars very differently to facilitate production and reduce parts inventory.
