I would imagine, but unless you are racing the car you'll likely not see any benefit/difference at all.

Pretty sure it'd work, although you might need the whole beam axle assembly. That's what you had to do to get rear discs on a mk2 Jetta. Just understand that its purely a looks thing, you'll never be able to push your car fast enough to overheat your drums with upgraded drum shoes.
