I recently started having an issue where my seatbelt alarm chimes even though my seatbelt is fastened and I'm the only one in the vehicle. I double checked the fastening and checked the seatbelt connection points but it still continues to chime. Of course eventually it'll stop the light stays on. I've even tried disconnecting the battery but it didn't help. Anyone have any experience or input on this before I take this problem to the dealership? Thanks in advance.

Not really, j/k bad idea.
i have the exact same problem in my 2014 corolla. i have not tried fixing it yet but its a button type switch in the buckle that closes when the end of the metal piece is secured in the buckle. if i push down the switch closes and the light turns off. i plan on trying to fix it soon. or also seeing if there is a recall.
btw its also only the driver side for me as well. try pushing down and see if the light goes off.
