Toyota Corolla XE 1994: Speed sensor not working

#1
When I got the car, the speedmeter is not working. I saw that it's using a sensor thing. I avoid city driving since I'm not sure what my speed is due to the lack of a working speed meter. Any ideas aside from replacing the speed sensor?

Hi XEBigbuddy_2014
I face the same problem a couple of years ago with my Corolla wagon...my speedometer never goes more than 10 miles per hour. Like you said before i replace my speed sensor and the problem stays. The solution is to open the cluster panel and pull out the speedometer out from the cluster and check the capacitors. For sure the capacitor are completely bulk and you need to replace only 2 of the 3 in there. Thats the final solution to your problem. I dont know if you still have the car or if you have any electronic knowledge.
