Turn signal issue

My right turn signal doesn't work. It makes the normal ticking sound, but the light doesn't come on on the dash or the exterior light. The left turn signal works just fine.
My question is:

If this problem is a loose turn signal stalk, why does the ticking sound come on but not the light? The light only comes on if you hold it a certain way. Any ideas? It's probably a loose stalk but I don't know what other problems it has.

Your mostly likely correct could not be making a good connection which is why you may hear it but not see it.
I would start with replacing that switch.

No I'm not a,knowing all.but is it possible you got the wrong bulb #?if notches and contacts,aren't fitting socket slots right?

Nope, I found the problem. I took apart the signal stalk and ran some tests. Turns out the connectors aren't making very good contact.. easy fix!
