Walmart doesn't carry Conventional Oil in my car's weight and OReillys explained that they're not either, I made the jump to Synthetic. Actually, I purchased and am now running a Semi-Synthetic Valvoline Oil in the proper viscosity.

My '05 cycles as you're describing, every so many seconds. Seems excessive but maybe engineered that way..

I'll have to pay attention and see if the cycle pattern is the same or changes with cold engine vs hot..
My '05 sits on about 350 miles gone before I refill with gas. And I could still drive for a considerable amount more but don't want to run her dry.

FinalGear has a great point on the OBD scanner. Is your check engine light on by chance?..
Thanks FinalGear.. I didn't even consider the cabin filter. I am also going to replace the coolant and am wondering if the XEREX brand or even the Valvoline coolant are acceptable. They're both red in color as is the existing coolant in my radiator.
