Shifted to 'P' at 10 mph

I did that once with a 2001 Corolla. I got spooked by almost hitting an animal. It was perfectly fine 10 years and 100k miles later, but I don't recommend it. The car fell apart eventually, but the transmission ran perfect. I think they've been designing them with fail-safes for like 20 years now.

Corolla gets #2 Consumer Reports Best Buy Rank

If there was a simple plug in play upgrade (2 mounting bolts and 1 wire nut to make the change), I'd buy it.

    MY Cosmetic Upgrades....Share yours.

Yeah, that looks nasty. Very nice of him to warn us. Not everyone would post pics of that.

    Touchy cruise control

I ran some tests, and the high revving when using the cruise is not engine braking. When the car need to slow down, it uses the same system as the brake assist, meaning the car actually applies force to the brakes pads, just like the brake peddle does. The high revving actually happens on flat...

CVT transmission: "braking" and "maximum braking"

Here are some of my sources. I hope they are right: https://www.quora.com/Is-engine-braking-when-going-downhill-bad-for-automatic-transmissions https://www.drivespark.com/four-wheelers/2018/engine-braking-good-or-bad/articlecontent-pf83928-025078.html...

CVT transmission: "braking" and "maximum braking"

That's not how it works. The higher RPMs come from the wheels, not from fuel. That's why a Prius creates energy from braking. It does not mean engine wear, but it does mean less brake wear.

Lane tracing - upgrading from TSS-P to TSS 2.0?

Will Toyota will offer way to upgrade TSS-P to TSS 2.0? Since these updates are almost certain to save lives, Toyota has a ethical responsibility to offer this update if it reasonably can be done. The owner should pay for the upgrade, I'm not talking free, Toyota can make money on it, but it...

    New tires recommendation

My 2018 Corolla came stock with Toyo Proxes 4 PLUS tires. I guess I got lucky!

Corolla gets #2 Consumer Reports Best Buy Rank

I just checked and the 2018 Corolla is #1 out of 21 compact cars. And #1 out of 33 for small cars. And it's not a small car.

    2017 fog lights...

Why would you want to do this? Wouldn't headlights will make it harder to see in fog, compared with DRL or foglights? https://www.wikihow.com/Drive-Safely-in-Fog

    Cvt Update MPG improved

Keep in mind mpg is better when it's warmer, so given the time frame it could be the temperature rising that gave you better mileage.

    So not Mobile 1 then? Super isn't a Mobile 1 oil. https://mobiloil.com/en/motor-oils/mobil-super/mobil-super-synthetic

CVT transmission: "braking" and "maximum braking"

Cops like seeing that you applied the breaks when seeing them, it shows you respect them, which is really important to them. They already know you were speeding, due to their radar.

    Plug N' Play Remote Start

Why Mobil 1? Then, which Mobil 1? There are 11 different types, and 8 of them might be applicable. https://mobiloil.com/en/motor-oils/mobil-1

Should I cancel my extended warranty?

If you put the $1000 into saving, then you can use that for any repair needed, regardless (irregardless?) of any fine print. That's piece of mind too.

    Touchy cruise control

I'm running into the same basic issue with the cruise, revving up to 3.5k to 4.5k. This happens most often at 60mph, and happens less often at other speeds. When I notice it, tapping the gas peddle makes it go away. I have no idea why tapping the gas makes it go away instead of making it...
