Back discs on a 2014 Corollow Quest

#1
Hi all, please let me know your thoughts. I have a 2014 Quest, 1.4 with 54000kms on the clock. Starting getting a brake squeek, so took it in to McCarthy Woodmead. They then proceeded to replace all the brake pads (front and back) as well as the back discs.

Now the fun starts :) One single pad is badly worn, looks like it was fitted skew. All the rest had life still in them, except for a few small cracks along the top (so much for Toyota Quality). I can handle having to replace all of them. The discs though were still in great condition, a lip of no more then 1 mm, with a few gentle 'grooves'. In no way did they need to be replaced. Took it back to the dealer this morning and he tells me (with a straight face) that Toyota Discs cannot be skimmed, and that if they could, it would cost the same as replacing them with new ones!

Wtf?!?

If anyone has any info / knowledge that can educate me, your thoughts / comments are appreciated.
