Civic is kind of the "default choice" in Canada but back in 2013 (2014 MY), I didn't went Civic VS Corolla for various reasons (price/equipment ratio, noise, interior space) but mostly because 2 of my friends had need a low mileage transmission replacement with them. Then a bunch of their new CVT were affected by some plant production glitch (so were some engines in current new generation). The funny thing is that the main reason it's not recommended following the last Consumer reports survey is... infotainment glitches. Let's not brag too much, though. Who knows what might happen when the next gen Corolla, totally new from frame to engine and build in a totally new Mexican plant will come. I'm sure Toyota will be very careful, but still...
