When I checked my worn out bushings all I do is hold the clutch arm or the shifter arm with one hand, and the other hand holding the shifter cable ends and a slight wiggle to check for play between the cable end and bushing. Inside the rubber bushing is a brass sleeve that's about a mill or so...

The clutch press is also so much smoother also w/less pressure applied. Clutch and shifter cables have the same size od (22mm) cable ends and shift pin sizes are the same also (8mm). Both 608 bearings work for both.
