you seem to be overly concerned with reliability and non fun oriented things in your posts...just saying.

plus you have a feeling of accomplishment after the job...even if sometimes it does take you farrrr longer than intended haha I actually just got out from under my subaru a few minutes ago :)

take it to a toyota dealership that is know for having a good service department, unless you know of a shop that is truly very reliable and honest...i find it very difficult to let anyone work on my car unless i know them personally, so i just do everything myself :)

Not to be rude, but how uneducated are you when it comes to cars? you can get the 1zz into that power range, but it is most definitely not a low cost venture...300 hp is tripling the stock output...that will take quite a bit of replacing numerous parts aside from just adding forced induction.

save the money and get some nice coilovers...much better performance and yes, they will make your ride considerably rougher, but the car will feel much more predictable and stout :) oh and if you don't have it, a front strut bar made turns much more enjoyable on my xrs...the stock one is...
