No one knows? Perhaps the store will have a pulley from a later year that fits and or works better considering the TSB on the tensioners premature problems.

Check the belt tensioner pulley. My pulley bearings are going out and it makes a strange knocking/rattling sound.

Lol just posted something very similar... my 99 corolla also has 140k and the belt tensioner is acting up, but my mechanic said it was just the pulley bearings going out. I can't find a pulley replacement online (i can find the assembly of course)...and going to a junkyard will be a pain. Help.

Car:99 Corolla VE 5MT. So the bearings in my tensioner pulley are shot is what my mechanic told me. I've had the entire tensioner replaced before but I can't find a pulley specific to this piece. Do they not make one? The advanced auto part must have been a generic pulley as it didn't spin...
