I was unable to find any viable info. I will be changing the expansion valve this weekend with no guide so as soon as I get the valve in I will post what steps to take to remove the valve.

Has anyone replaced an expansion valve on a 88-92 Corolla?. Do you have to remove the entire dash assembly to access it?.

Have you checked to see if there is a sufficient refrigerant charge?. You may want to start there so you'll know if the refrigerant is low or leaking then you can proceed from there.
