Thanks, that's a good thought... irregular blocks or blocks being dragged would probably do this and the RSA is a a bit blocky on the sides. The tires went on new at the dealer, but I think they drove the car for a while before putting it up for sale, so maybe they're uneven to. I didn't do the...
Another in my many "looking to buy one of these" posts.
Drove a 2012 w/40K. Looked to be in great shape but above 60-65 on the highway there was a lot of road vibration transmitted to the wheel. It was smooth at lower speeds.
I don't think it was tire balance as there was no wobble-ish...
(still hunting for a used one of these).
I drive a 2012 yesterday and there was a high pitched whine from the climate system with the fan blowing. It was worst on cooler A/C settings and went away if I moved the temp selector past the center towards the warmer temps. Definitely air flow...
Yeah... I hear you. We're trying to avoid having to use a cushion full time, which has been the past habit. That elevates you, but also takes you out of the seat's notch, making it less comfortable.
Your suggestions are the reason for my question... if the rails sit on four pads of reasonable...
Not that short, but another 1/2" or inch would be a boost (no pun). I hadn't thought of the airbag issue... but a cushion would have the same effect, and I have to figure that a tall person is way higher than my short friend.
Is this generation of the Corolla seat attached in a simple way (like four bolts straight down through the rails) that you could bolt some 1/2" or 1" spacers under the rails and raise the height?
I'm trying to buy one for a short person... the pump doesn't give quite enough height. If we could...

Did any of these come with a power driver's seat with height adjustment?
Trying to find one for a short driver and the pump up seat doesn't seem to cut it. The Camry w/power seat does, but we'd prefer to stay with the Corolla.
Thx,
Not to belabor this, but since you're a tire guy... what kind of wear ratings on those Conti's? V rated or higher speed? My experience with Conti's is usually good, although I had a set of Conti DWS Extreme a few years back that wore fast. But 15-17K is nothing. Might be worth a set of...
Question on the "tire eating" with the 215-45-17's: Do you drive aggressively? This would be for for a really tame driver, but long tire life would be a good thing if we could get it (noting the relationship to tire quality too). Also, steel wheels would be a feature for this driver too. I'll...
Thanks... assuming the headlights are working, is there any way to judge "wear"? Or are they either working or not?
On the 2014 vs 2013 generation... does the longer wheel base make a big difference interior wise?
I know these are very reliable cars, but is there anything in particular to check for or look for in terms of reliability on one with 30Kmiles or so? Is the CVT reliable? Anything else I should check for wear/issues?
Thanks,
Ah, thanks. Maybe it was an L... I will have to check that. So, there are versions of the climate controls (strip vs. knob) in the LS and the S? I might see an S with the knobs? Is it the Plus version of both that have the strip vs. knobs, or is that just an option that could come with or...
I was looking at/driving both models today.
The LE suspension was very soft vs. the S. Almost uncomfortably soft and squirrely on the road. Like I wouldn't trust it in an accident accident avoidance maneuver. The LE did have 70K miles vs. 30K on the S. Are they normally that soft or was the LE...
