It dries up any moisture in the tank.... Happens alot in winter... Your gas tank heats up and gets cold again and any moisture turns to ice crystals and makes it through the gas line and injectors...

They used to sell liquid electrical tape years back... That helped me in the winter salt season... Don't know if they still make it or if any of you ever tried it.

i don't think toyota offered a manual transmission in the xse trim, just the SE 6MT.... i liked the added features of the xse so paddle shifters it is... lol

read that the belt is clamped between the pulleys up to 4 tons for bigger engines but around 1200 for a 4 cylinder.... the pressure between the 2 pulleys could be less than 1200 at times so could a sensor screwing up on one pulley from the other... but that much pressure must require some type...

i would think the fluid runs where the metal belt is, to keep the heat down... i could be wrong but im no cvt expert... metal on metal would create a ton of heat at the rpm's those pulleys spin... maybe the heat thins out the fluid so much it slips.... 3 metal rings and 399 elements between...
