Just warm it for about 30 seconds to a minute , then take off and try to keep RPM`s below 2000 until the engine has warmed up.

I like the bottom one better than the top one.

Are you overfilling your gas tank? That can cause the issue.

To answer your question though winter blend does not get as good gas mileage as a summer blend gas. And also in cold weather because your car takes longer to warm up than in winter it accounts for more gas use.
